GBV (Addressing issues of Gender equality and general protection)
GBV is refers to any harmful act perpetrated against a person’s will and is based on socially ascribed roles, and Gender equality refers to the absence of discrimination on the basis of sex. Ideally gender equality is when one sex is not routinely privileged or prioritized over the others and where all people are recognized, respected and valued for their capacities and potential as an individual and members of the society
Furthermore in gender equality, girls, boys, women and men have equal rights and are obliged to receive opportunities to security, good health, available livelihood avenues, dignified work opportunities, participatory caring of homes and dependent family members and taking active part in public and political life, learning and participating in the relevant educational systems and living a life free from violence. GEFASS therefore advocates gender equality in all aspects of life in South Sudan and shall take the lead of ensuring that the fight for gender equality shall be a prerequisite to the service provision in all their thematic areas.
