About Us

About

Gender Empowerment for All (GEFASS) is National Non- Government Organization (NNGO) that was founded in March 2023 by a group of young South Sudanese women with a focus on Preventing GBV and Child abuse, Creating Peace and Security for women and disadvantaged youth. The organization is run by a Board of Directors who are the founding young women. The office of GEFASS is located in Rock City behind Imatogas.

To note however for GEFASS to achieve the overall goal of total inclusivity of all regardless of gender and age consideration, we have incorporated intellectual i.e. professionals and lay citizens in our ranks of operation.

what do you need?

Specific Objectives

  1. Create/ improve the enabling environment for development of vulnerable women, out of school girls, young mothers and generally the youth by eradicating the negatively inclined gender-based barriers such as preferring boy to go to school while the girl child stays at home.
  2. To build a national and regional capacity to develop sexual and reproductive health policies, programs and strategies through legislative lobbing in order to effectively advocate for the rights of the women and the youth.
  3. Combat GBV through prevention and response interventions.
  4. Promote basic education for the girl child.
  5. Support the women and the youth to spear head environmental protection and conservation.
  6. Support the communities to improve their nutrition, WASH and Health through grassroots intervention by utilizing the women and the youth capacity building initiatives.

Board of Directors

GEFASS is governed by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is the key policy making and governance body of organization and it’s drawn from the Assembly of Members. It is responsible for the policy making and ensuring strategic and organizational direction set by the assembly. The Current Board is consists of five (5) members. The Executive Director of GEFASS serves as the General Secretary of the Board of Directors. The Board operates in the guide lines of the organization policy manuals.

The Executive Body

GEFASS’s technical team is led by Executive Director who is the general secretary and advisor to the Board of Directors of the organization. The technical team consists of highly professional staff that provides the necessary expertise for the implementation of the planned activities. The Executive Director is reporting to chairperson of board of Directors and responsible for overall head of the organization. The Executive Director is assisted by the Program Development Director, project managers and jointly forms the management structure of the organization. Being a civil society organization with activists and the highly professional staff, the different coordination and the management relations between the Executive Director and the two interrelated sphere of the executive body is best presented in the form of a well-coordinated network of relations rather than a hierarchal structure though the hierarch does exist as is exhibited by the table of the Organogram below. .
